Ethoikos - Corbaiola Research Station



		Corbaiola Etho-Ecological Field Station Radicondoli
Ethoikos established a scientific research station with laboratories, offices, a guesthouse for students and researchers, and a reception area for visiting schools within “La Selva” Forest, at Podere Corbaiola. The research station serves as logistic base for field research on flora and fauna and for science education activities with schools.


	Natural plasters and insulations were utilised for the renovation of Podere Corbaiola, and energy-efficient solutions adopted for energy saving and production; these include ventilated roofs, underfloor heating and cooling and a system for the treatment of hot and cold air in the laboratories, controlled by a geothermal heat pump; electricity is produced by a photovoltaic plant and domestic water heated by a solar thermal power station.
